The Thunder and Lightning over Arizona Air Show

This air show is near and dear to my heart. I watched it from my home while growing up. I attended when I was an A-10A Crew-Chief in the 80s and as a Flying Crew-Chief on the C-9A in the 2000s. I even attended as a VIP in 2014 when my staff and I, from my local magazine, were invited. I have loved this show for years… but we missed it this year. YouTube video will load below.

The Thunder and Lightning over Arizona Air Show was a free, weekend-long event that took place at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson on March 25-26, 2023. The event featured dynamic aerial displays, static aircraft exhibits, and interactive activities for the whole family. The highlight of the show was the performance of the United States Air Force Thunderbirds, the world-renowned aerobatic team. The event also offered premium seating options, food and beverage vendors, and a beer garden for adults. The event was open to the public and attracted thousands of visitors who got to see and learn more about the Air Force and its mission.
