Premiere Pro Hidden Effects
I have spent the last 3 years learning and using Premiere Pro video editing software by Adobe. There is a HUGE learning curve but I am now comfortable enough to say I’m a professional. Well, the experience and the fact that I have actually made money from my efforts.
I recently encountered something that I had never seen nor could I find a solution to anywhere on the interwebs, so I offer my experience here for your viewing pleasure.
Cannot see color changes or effects in Premiere Pro while editing. SOLVED
November 10, 2022
I experienced something this morning that had me scratching my head and searching for answers for hours. I learned something so unique that I had to share my experience.
I opened a video that I had edited prior to this morning and my color corrections would not show in the preview window. No matter what I tried, I could not get any changes to display.
Hi, my name is David Francis and I have been using Adobe products professionally since 2007. I started on InDesign and Photoshop and have since graduated to Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition and more producing websites, publishing videos and just being creative. So I’m somewhat familiar with the programs.
To make this as brief as possible – the reason I could not see my “effects” is because they were disabled. As I struggled with this issue, I remembered that last weekend, I had dragged the Fx on/off toggle switch to the toolbar. It seems, I had toggled the switch before hiding it again.
Once I thought of that, I clicked the + to add the switch. Dragged to the toolbar, and sure enough, it was blocking my FX. I simply clicked it and I could see my changes once again.
I know this seems like an easy thing to figure out but after searching for an answer for a while and not finding a solution… I thought perhaps some fellow editor will find this obscure issue solution useful.
